I live in the Appalachain mountains of Virginia, USA. I'm in a very rural area (I have dial-up internet) and since 2004 I have been riding a Raleigh Retroglide NX4 to make daily delivery of fresh eggs to my neighbors during the warmer months. I don't make much money doing this, but I enjoy getting out every morning and breathing in the fresh air and getting some excersize. Due to a knee injury, I am unable to ride for long periods, but then again I don't ride year round and I find that each spring I am out of shape. During these past 8 years I have been uncomfortable sitting on my bike and had to take frequent breaks from riding. The roads where I live aren't the best, in fact a lot of them are only graveled instead of paved. I had tried several saddles in the past, but not one of them where what I was looking for. Well, on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 I drove an hour and a half to my nearest Brooks Saddle Dealer. Two hours and lots of interesting information later I walked out with my first Brooks saddle. A honey colored B33. When I got home it was all I could do not to go for a ride, but I maintained my dicipline and applied the Proofide. I waited exactly 24 hours and buffed the saddle. The Proofide gave the leather a slight patina which I find to be beautiful. This morning, April 19, 2012 I went riding and I must say that the B33 is by FAR the most comfortable bike saddle I have ever had the pleasure to sit upon. I rode for over an hour and didn't have to stop because of saddle pain. I am so pleased with this saddle that I will tell everyone I know to get a Brooks. As a side note, I'd like to say that I am 6' 2" (188 cm) tall and weigh 260 lbs. (nearly 118 kilograms or 19 stone). When I first held the Brooks B33 I was concerned if it would be comfortable for someone my size. In fact, I almost didn't get the saddle because I though it was a lot of money for a saddle that didn't look anymore comfortable than the other saddles I had tried over the years. I am glad that I made the purchase. Thank you Brooks for making such a fine saddle. It's nice to be able to ride these old mountain roads in comfort and style.
